#2: SMILE, SMILE, SMILE - Sounds easy but when your stressed in an oral board the last thing you can think of is smiling, people want to hire happy people not stressed, angry or sad people. So SMILE
#3: Getting to know the department you are testing with can be key to success on an interview. The oral board panel wants to know you want this job, by showing that you have put in the hours getting to know the department through and through will make a good impression. If they allow it make some station visits, bring some ice cream and introduce yourself. You never know who you might meet at a visit. Good luck!
#4: A professional well prepared resume is more important than most candidates give them credit for. Most oral boards have several candidates closely ranked at the top. You don't want to role the dice that another candidate has a well prepared resume and you don't. Becoming a professional starts before you get the job. Make your resume reflect the professionalism that you pride yourself on. #5: Look people in the eyes. You would be surprised how many interview panels are looking for subtle body language cues such as looking a person in the eyes.
